Boots or Bags are Joanna Scott Douglas (vocals, bodhrán) and Pascal Gentner (guitar, vocals)
In the summer of 2006 the Scottish female singer Joanna Scott Douglas met the German-French singer songwriter Pascal Gentner somewhere in the middle of Cuxland between Bremen and Bremerhaven. She had already written several song lyrics and he was pleased not to have to write any at the time. He happily got busy putting her lyrics to music. A short time later, prose and melody, alto and baritone, bodhràn and guitar blended and harmonized to create a wide range of strong and expressive folk pop songs with influences from several different musical directions and showing a very distinctive sensibility and charm.
In 2009 Boots or Bags recorded a selection of these songs on their first CD and have since played numerous concerts both locally, further afield and abroad. Now further down the road, Boots or Bags have added several new songs to their repertoire.
